Hello, my name is Melony Bowling.
I am from San Diego, California and received my teaching credential from San Diego State University. I attended the University of California, Merced for my undergraduate studies and received a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science with a minor in Natural Science Education.
One of my favorite subjects to teach is math, especially with common core. I love engaging students in interactive and collaborative lessons that help them see and think about where concepts come from. I also greatly enjoy reading with students, especially through read alouds.
More than anything, I love talking to and getting to know my students. Each student brings with them vast funds of knowledge and it is essential to access that knowledge and learn about their lives and where they come from to better teach them as the unique individuals they are.
