Endeavor College Preparatory Professional Development

Attended monthly full-day and weekly half-day professional development sessions. These sessions ranged from school-wide bullying and suicide prevention trainings, to SSPT and behavior support. There were also differentiated breakout groups that focused on practicing new teaching techniques, streamlining grading, and collaborating within and between grade levels to best help our students. These sessions and supports continued through distance learning. 

ELPAC Adventure

Day-long PD focused on student preparation for the ELPAC, specifically how to embed ELD standards and teach essential skills through both core curriculum and designated ELD instruction.

Held daily office hours via Zoom, called to check-in, and sent email and ClassDojo messages to connect with students and families. Helped families access technology and internet resources and transition to distance learning.

 

Utilized Google Classroom, Zoom, Nearpod, Flipgrid, Padlet, i-Ready, Zearn, and Prodigy to create interactive, standards-based lessons for all core subjects and small groups. Used Google Slide Add-ons, such as Nearpod and Peardeck, to increase student engagement, collect data, and gage student understanding.

 

Used lesson data reports and Google Classroom exit tickets to inform future lessons and identify students in need of Zoom small group re-teach reading lessons.


Reworked differentiated small math groups to include all 72 4th Grade students, using i-Ready diagnostic data to group students based on their domain-specific needs and held interactive Zoom lessons.

Taught 37 students at a Title I charter school in Boyle Heights, an inner-city community near the heart of Los Angeles, California. Endeavor College Prep has a 96% Latino population, with 94% of students receiving free or reduced lunch.

 

Differentiated curriculum, while maintaining rigor, to make grade level materials accessible to students two or more grade levels behind.

 

Designed and implemented lessons for designated ELD.

 

Administered state testing (ELPAC and CAASPP) in group and individual settings.

 

Collaborated with grade-level team and instructional coaches to create meaningful lessons by analyzing student data, including exit tickets and diagnostic assessments.

 

Engaged in monthly full-day, and weekly half day, professional development training, as well as weekly grade-level team planning, instructional coach content meetings, and student data meetings, which continued during distance learning.
